Original composition, "Theme of Resilience." As for the instrumentation, this composition is primarily piano-based for fullest expression, with short excerpts of strings, a ride cymbal, and a "sigh" to reinforce the motifs that follow.
The piece starts expository while suggesting several thoughts at once, then a transition to gradually getting ideas settled (with introduction of guiding, metronomic ride cymbal). The vocal "sigh" hints at resignation and compliance as the solo piano struggles with an emerging theme. Then there is a transition to feelings of upliftment, flying, and adventure as the theme builds. And yet another transition to more melancholic introspection, and resolving with the defined theme and holisitic happiness.
